Kellogg Co. | World’s largest Cereal maker | Raises Nutritional Value of Cereals and Snacks

I am not a great fan of cereals or even feeding them to our children, as I do not agree to their ingredients, neither how they are promoted on TV, radio, magazines, buses, newspapers or even banners in shops.

Kellogg has been known to be the world’s largest cereal maker and they have announced to raise the nutritional value of cereals and snacks it markets to our children. I find that this is long overdue and although there is a long way to go it should be celebrated.

Nowadays packaged foods are mostly “crap” and the “good” stuff is harder to find among crowed shop shelves as well as misleading labels. Finding food that is good for us and our children is not easy to find. What I mean is the difference between having energy and being trim versus being fat, depressed and NEEDING a sugar fix on a regular basis. I have no idea and cannot even understand how parents can feed this junk to their children (even babies) on a daily basis and not feel like criminals!

Nutrition experts have the same opinion; Sugar is taking over other foods in our children’s diets. Exposing them to a great number of health issues as well as making them fat, which can cause serious depression in youngsters.

I agree with you. Raising nutritional value sounds good but not at the expense of eating genetically engineered corn. You should read this article; it talks about kellog’s towards the end but you should read the whole thing.

Didn’t want to leave you hanging on a negative note from my previous message, so here is a link where you can see an account of the social and environmental responsibility of many different companies and you will find who is making cereal or any other product in a socially and environmentally responsible manner.
