Take time off for Christmas

It’s the final week before Christmas and I am sure that you owe it to yourself to take a few days off, and spend quality time with your friends and family.

Take time to reflect and be thankful for the good fortunes that have come your way in the past year, whether these fortunes showed up in new friends, maybe new relationships, new interesting opportunities, continued good health or even economic growth.

Regardless of how 2010 played out for you, the new coming year will bring even more new opportunities, most probably new challenges, followed by new adventures, which I am sure will keep you busy.

So go on, take a few days off. Enjoy the season . . . and hey, don’t forget to take photos of you, your family and friends and share them with us.

SO here is me wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas followed by a happy and safe start of the New Year.

Be Self-Confidence!

Author: tracy

Self-confidence means trust in one’s own ability. As a very important psychological quality, it brings your creative power to play, and arouses you enthusiasm for work and helps you overcome difficulties. When asked of the secret of her success，Marie Curie answered， “My success lies in perseverance and self-confidence, and the latter in particular.”

Self-confidence gives you light when you are in dark and encouragement when you are dismayed. It is self-confidence that inspires you to cope with any arduous task. With self-confidence，the goal you intend can be reached, and so can make the hard nut be cracked.

I believe that any one can gain the success if he or she wants to. Whether he is at school or at work, a person is more likely to succeed if he is hard-working, honest, intelligent, responsible, and so on. But of all the possible characteristics that can affect one’s success, I believe self-confidence to be the most important for the following reasons.

The first reason is that when a person has self-confidence he believes in himself. He believes that he is capable enough, so he can and will succeed, and this gives him the courage to try new things. In order to be successful we must be willing to take some risks, so having self-confidence is very important. Another reason is that a confident person would never choose to give up. When he fails he tries again and again until he wins. On the contrary, Some people find most of the things impossible，saying, “It is beyond my ability to do the task.” or “I am not cut out for it.” In many cases，these are only lame excuses. When our heart is out of self-confidence，every hope is gone， and then you will never catch the chance to be success.

Last is not the least, a final reason is that confident people are not afraid to show off their achievements. This is not to say that they should brag, but that they should gracefully and confidently accept the compliments of others. When their achievements are noticed more by others at school or work, they are more likely to succeed.

In short, I believe self-confidence to be the most important factor in success. It enables people to take risks, try again when they fail, and enjoy their accomplishments when they win. With these abilities, a confident person can succeed easily whether he is learning in school or work in company.

Isn’t it true that in most cases dogs look like their owners? Or is it the other way round? Does the owner look like his/her dog? Not that it matters, but whatever way I look at it, I see the similarities.

So what type of dog-owner are you? Labrador? That would mean, you may have a beer-belly, or you overeat. Or how about you? Yes, YOU!!! I bet you own a poodle. I can tell by your frizzy hair. And YOU, you are as skinny in the face and body as your Greyhound? See what I mean?

cool myspace layouts

Now I wonder if I look like Shadow, my Dalmation. Am I as fit as he is? Surely, I do not have his kind of muscles. Hmmm. His character? There could be some similarities I guess. He is very sexy, healthy AND a RAWfooder… I guess I am all that too. Or how about his spots? And yes, I am as black and white as he is?

Vitamin E, Alpha-tocopherol, Fat Soluble, Antioxidant And Healer

Posted by Viola Woolcott

Vitamin E, also known as Alpha-tocopherol (which is the ONLY NATURAL form) is a fat soluble Vitamin. It stores in the body until it is needed, which means you don’t need to take it every day.

It acts as an antioxidant Vitamin and helps your body by neutralising potentially damaging free radicals, which have been known to support the development of cancer and cardiovascular disease as well as being very important in the safeguarding of cell membranes to protect them against the effects of dangerous free radicals also.

Vitamin E offers many more health benefits for your body. It aids in keeping your skin and heart, circulation and muscles, nerves as well as your red blood cells healthy. It can slow down aging and is a great healer for burns and wounds, after surgery, (only apply on closed wounds), topically on scars and other injuries. Muscle strength improves and it is useful in the treatment of fibrocystic breast disease, PMS, as well as painful or excessive menstruation.

Free radicals are stimulated during regular exercise, so Vitamin E should be taken on a regular basis. Being a natural anticoagulant, it even offers some protection against heart disease and some forms of stroke.

Vitamin E has also been known to alleviate respiratory problems as well as boosting the immune system, therefore fighting off infectious diseases.

If you suffer with Vitamin E deficiency, some symptoms may include the lack of vitality, disinterest in sexual performance, irritability, sensitivity, reduction in physical activity, neurological and reproductive problems as well as muscle weakness and maybe even depression.

Vitamin E has very low toxicity if taken in larger doses, so pregnant and breast-feeding women should avoid mega- doses.

By eating a varied, balanced and healthy diet, you should get the amount of Vitamin E you need. Some good sources are nuts and seeds, whole-wheat flour, wheat-germ, green leafy vegetables, avocados, vegetable oils and spinach.

Isn’t the weather great? Just ‘right’ for the time of year. And doesn’t that get you into the Christmas mood and light up a fire? Well, it does me, and I just love it. My chimney is going to be swept on Tuesday and once the fire is going, it is going to stay on.

I don’t know how the roads are where you are, but in my part of the world the roads are snowy, and yes today VERY icy. In fact, as for the remote area I live in, we are cut off. There isn’t even a chance to go and do any shopping, even if I needed to.

Regardless the weather we went for a three hour walk into the mountains with Shadow. And didn’t he have fun. He loved it. Iced up lanes, glittering snow, blue sky and sunshine. Absolutely beautiful! BUT, needless to say that it is a little bit of a worry because of ‘old’ injuries from my accident a couple of year ago. Lucky me for having had someone to hold onto, as I of course, was slipping and sliding all over the place.

Dinner is served. Isn’t it nice to be so spoiled?

Prisoner of your own making

How often do you blame someone else for your misery? For the pain you experience?
How often do you look to another for what you think you don’t already have within us?
How often do you accuse someone else for betraying you?
How often do you settle for less that you desire… and also deserve?

See!!! All of this is simply a way not to be happy.
Simply a way to stay stuck in a life that is hum drum…and yes, even a life which is miserable at times.

Don’t let another moment go by without recognising your addictions to unhappiness. To discomfort. Start to look forward. Focus on your Dreams and make them come true.

As soon as you understand what you are doing to yourself you can simply choose to stop the behaviour and begin to see that we “make” ourselves what WE ARE. And that is both “miserable and happy“.

There is nothing that can take you ‘from’ happiness or bring you to it either.

Don’t blame another for your discomfort.
Don’t use this to keep you tied to a prison of your own making.

You have the ability to become the Power to make your life exactly what you wish it to be NOW.

I know, I haven’t posted much lately. But with my unexpected move away in February and than of course some other life-changing personal decisions like leaving my boyfriend after 7.5 years I didn’t feel like writing or even looking at my sites. To tell the truth, it was one of the hardest and most painful decisions I ever had to make. But hey, we learn and I’m on the way to recovery – just goes to show that even I am human Life is beautiful and I’m a VERY lucky woman.

On May 12th was my 50th Birthday. I think friends meant well and YES, I had a real surprise party. To be honest, I knew something was ‘going on’, but I never said a thing.

I’m grateful for the handful of people I can call REAL friends and for all the help with moving and of course the support I have been given. The party was GREAT and one of my friends who is very dear to me took a couple of nice pictures of me. I must say, I very rarely like photos of me, but for some reason I’m in love with this one, so I like to share this one below.

So this is me 15 kg (just over 2 st) ‘lighter’, after a STRICT, CONTROLLED and VERY DICIPLINED Detox – DETOX – DETOX… well, I guess in all areas of my life. Looks great if you ask me…

Vitamin K, Fat Soluble, Beneficial For Osteoporosis And Blood Clotting

Vitamin K is a fat-soluble Vitamin and as it stores in the body until it is needed, there is no need to take it on a daily basis.

It can be found naturally in two forms:

=> K 1 – phylloquinone – found in plants

=> K 2 – menaquinone – synthesized by many bacteria

(There is also Vitamin K 3 – menadione, which is a manmade form)

Vitamin K, long known for its critical role in blood clotting, it has a number of important functions. It is essential for synthesising the liver protein that controls the clotting. It also helps heal wounds properly as it is needed for the blood clotting. There has been increasing evidence that Vitamin K is also beneficial in the repair and development of building strong bones.

I must say, it is more than odd, but for the last three nights I keep having the same ‘thoughts’, almost dream like before going to sleep. It’s about having babies/children.

NO, NO, NO, before you even ask, not about me having any more, it is really more a question in general.

I’m kind of dwelling on the pro’s and con’s (you know what I mean). Even at a young age I always said that I like to have a big family one day.

Be careful what you wish for is all I can say …..

For my part, I have no regrets, but still, the question remains….. “Is it selfish to have children or is it selfish not to have children?”
