Energy Saving Tips

I am sure you know all that already, but just in case follow our Energy saving tips and save money.

>> Reduce your room temperatures by turning your thermostat down. 1°C could cut your heating bills by up to 10% and could save you as much as £40 per year.

>> If your water is to hot, turn your cylinder thermostat down. It should not need to be above 60°C/140°F.

>> By closing your curtains at dusk, you stop heat escaping through the windows.

>> When you leave the room, always turn off the lights.

>> Do not to leave appliances on charge unnecessarily and make sure your appliances are not on standby.

>> Most washing machines, tumble dryers and even dishwashers have a half-load/economy programme, so remember to use it if you are not filling your machine up.

>> When you boil water, make sure you are only boiling as much as you require, but if you are using an electric kettle, remember to cover the elements.

>> If your hot water tap is dripping, it wastes energy. In one week it wastes enough to fill half a hot bath. Fix leaking taps and remember to make sure they’re fully turned off.

>> Are you using energy saving light bulbs? The lifetime of one bulb can save you £60, as they last up to 10 times longer than any ordinary lightbulb.
