Wicked, WICKED Weekend Out on Sea

Wicked, WICKED Weekend Out on Sea

WHAT a weekend!!! Wish it never stopped!

Only JUST got in, FAR later than I thought. I am NOT complaining though!

Don’t you LOVE Sunseeker? I must admit my weekend exceeded ALL of my expectations. You must try it. And with the right company you could have a dream weekend.

I used to say that I wasn’t a sunseeker (I’m still not really), but as far as being ON a Sunseeker, its the most beautiful, responsive thing. You just got to try it!

Checking my 268 mails now, unpack…. get washing machine ready for the morning and than off to bed. HAPPY ME!!

I am actually looking for a couple of people who would like to go sailing. Maybe someone who has never gone before. E-mail me and I take you…

Good night ;-)

Sailing and Having Fun

Sailing and Having Fun

Just a very quick note, as I’m right in the middle having a fun time.

Not have I only just come back from rainy Canada, I am also away this weekend. I think I deserve it after all the rain I have had during my three weeks in Calgary. A friend of mine invited me to go sailing for a couple of days, well, three days and two nights, so what else could I do BUT accept. I’m sure you would have done the same.

I must say, its REALLY windy and after my accident in October last year I still find it hard to keep my balance, so it’s not to easy and of course, using the jacuzzi on the flybridge is totally out of the question. No worries. I’m well looked after and DON’T have to do a thing, just sit, relax and be pampered! Even though I have been sailing quite a few times, this time it seems to be different. More fun. More relaxing. More interesting.

I’m so glad I went, its been an exciting couple of days for me so far, with new opportunities coming up and some important decisions to make.

I will keep you updated!

I hope that your summer is filled with new opportunities and blessings.

Rockie Mountains, here I come!

Rockie Mountains, here I come!

I am excited ;-) I have finally made up my mind that I AM going to Banff for a couple of days next week. I’d be silly if I didn’t while I am here.

I called a few places today from B&B’s to Inns, Lodges to Hotels. After careful consideration and some GOOD advice of Craig (the guy who adviced me), he suggested a Hotel in Banff close (walking distance) to town, where I can relax, where it is beautiful and where I would find some peace. Craig was very helpful and sympathetic when I told him about my accident, injuries and recovery. And as far as the peace, relaxation and beauty goes, I am also on my own, so he suggested to spoil myself to an executive suite with lounge, kitchen, balcony, open fire (which he will light) and of corse Mountain views. I am not even going to tell you the costs for these 2 nights. Even though he gave me a special price, it’s obscene. There is also a “Cave and Basin Hotpool area” in the hotel.

I can’t wait! ;-)

Some Things Never Change!

Some Things Never Change!

I woke up this morning to another rainy day. The weather has been so bad and even worse in the neighbourhood areas. Even snow storms have been reported. I went out onto the Veranda to have my morning cup of herbal tea, but couldn’t even sit down as everything was dripping with water. Doreen says that the weather is like Monsoon without the heat.

I’m here a week today and have not done much but sit in the house, go for the odd drive and visit some people. Yesterday I went to the ‘Chinook’ indoor shopping center. It wasn’t as big as I thought and I didn’t buy much. Some Sandals, a lovely necklace for my daughter Kelly and a red Canadian hoody. Who would have thought that I would wear a hoody. Funny what you do when you are cold ;-)

RAIN, RAIN, RAIN – Would You Believe it?

RAIN, RAIN, RAIN – Would You Believe it?

What a disappointment. IT IS RAINING!!!!

So here I am sitting in my friends house waiting for good weather so that we can travel to the Rockies… If the weather doesn’t change, there is little point though (so she says), as there won’t be any visability… I am tired sitting here waiting. Till now I have not known what it means to be bored, but I tell you, after almost a weeks worth of waiting, believe me, I DO KNOW now what it means. And I do want to apologise if I have ever ‘judged’ you for saying you were bored. SORRY!!!

I think I need a holiday after this ;-)

Finally The Sun is Shining in Calgary

Finally The Sun is Shining in Calgary

I’m almost here a week now and am pleased to say that the sun is finally out after days and days of rain.

Today Doreen’s grandaughter Kate is here. She is almost 6 months old and we are having a ‘baby day’ with dirty nappies, bottles (and the rest of it). The pram is ready and waiting for taking Kate out for a walk. I am not sure where we are going to walk to, as wherever you go here in Calgary you need transport. Everything is miles and miles apart. Well, at least we won’t get wet ;-)

I didn’t sleep to well last night and am feeling quite tired, so some fresh air will be good. I still haven’t worked out what to do over the next couple of weeks, as I feel somehow restricted, as I am still using one of my crutches after the accident I have had in October last year. My ankle feels stiff today, which is probably due to sitting and waiting for better weather to come along. I cannot wait to go outside in the sunshine ;-)

My Secret Pictures – My Space

I have an account at MySpace, but don’t we all. I do not really spend that much time on there and in case you haven’t seen these yet, here they are. This is ME! ;-)

Another Rainy Day in Calgary

Another Rainy Day in Calgary

What can I say. It’s raining again. Well, chucking it down to be precise. And it’s ‘cold’. Ina has given me her hoody to take just before I was leaving for the airport on June 4th. Who would have thought that I would love a hoody? I am living in it. THANKS INA, what would I do without you ;-)

It has been ‘very’ wet the last two days and that means that there isn’t a lot we can do. Places to go to are miles apart and even to go to the Rockies wouldn’t be much good, as the visability isn’t to good. So I am hoping for better weather and some nice days out.

Yesterday we went to the Farmer’s Market. I have never seen so much fantastic grown organic vegetables, fruit, meat (not that I eat it, as I am a vegetarian) and other products. One thing I must say, there are Organic foodstores all over the place. I thought that where I live in West Sussex that we have a good range of Organics, but I have not seen anything like it here in Calgary.

I like any weather, but lets hope that it will change for the better ;-)

What shall I do next?

What shall I do next?

I went to bed early(ish) and had a good sleep and as I changed the times on my watch and mobile phone, I got up at my usual ‘home’ time, 6AM. Like yesterday I sat on the Veranda with a nice hot cup of organic coffee, read my book and enjoyed the peace. I am not sure yet what I will be doing in between the visits and days out Doreen has arranged for the next couple of weeks, so I am checking online if there are any interesting sites that offer tours etc. There is so much to do and I have no idea where to start, so I am taking it easy. After all, I have plenty of time. I know for sure that next week we will be staying in the Rocky Mountains, as Doreen’s son Bradley owns a hostal there and we are invited overnight.

At the moment there are a couple of guys here for a quote to do the decking in Doreen’s gaden and after they are gone, we plan to go out. For tonight Doreen has booked a couple of tickets and we will be going to a ‘Rumi’ seminar. I am looking forward to it very much, although it will be quite a cold evening. The weather has changed for the worst, so we will have to dress up warm. That will be a challenge. Dare I say, but I didn’t really bring that many warm clothes, so here is hoping that the place we go to is heated ;-)

Good Morning Britain!

Good Morning Britain!

While I have the chance, I thought I do a quick update of my stay here in Calgary.

Well, for you it is early morning in the UK and you are most probably all fast asleep right now. I have a few hours to go before hitting the pillow and we haven’t even had dinner yet.

I got up this morning, showered and did the usual, and I was ready to go thinking that it was 9AM. Of course, I totally got it ‘wrong’ and found that I was the only one up and that it was only 6AM. I went outside and sat on the Veranda reading my book and watching the wildlfe. How peaceful. I was thinking about how much Ina would love it here.

We did not do much today, as I am still trying to get used to the time difference. We had a cup of coffee and headed for town. Than Doreen dropped me at the ‘South Center’ for a few hours to go SHOPPING!! Unfortunately nothing special. Believe it or not, I didn’t even buy anything, so I am hoping to have more luck next time ;-)

The sun is still shining and dinner is served in the garden and everyone is waiting for me, so I got to go!

Not much happened today, so not that much to report really, but I will keep you updated ;-)
