Amazing Journey with Top Explorers Will Steger, Sam Branson and Sigrid Ekran
I am sure that with the comprehensive media coverage most people are aware of global warming. It would be tough to find anyone who doesn’t have a clue what it is all about. Even though they all know, doesn’t mean they are all jumping up at the chance to take action either. Quite an overwhelming number of Americans agree that global warming is not only real, but caused by humans, a recent poll showed. 58% of those who say they understand the problems said no to a potential gas tax in the hope to stop it.
In an amazing journey Will Steger, the legendary polar explorer and lifelong environmental activist is leading a team of top explorers including Sam Branson, son of Virgin’s Richard Branson, and Sigrid Ekran, the most recent “rookie of the year” on the Iditarod, out across the arctic ice this coming spring . The team wants to capture the arctic trauma while highlighting the need for necessary, immediate action! Their journey will be documented in real-time, blogging and creating pod casts from the ice throughout the trip. Time-lapse video cameras will be left in their wake to capture the ice as it melts away.
It will be a tremendous learning experience and the idea is to provide schools, teachers, students and also the general public with a terrific opportunity to get more involved in educating themselves and what we can do to stop the crisis and hopefully they will be able to raise a sense of urgency in America as well as across the globe to turn awareness and latent knowledge into action.
