What does love mean: Touching words from the mouths of babes

What does love mean? Touching words from the mouths of babes

Submitted by Anonymous

I absolutely love these ‘babe’ quotes. They are so innocent. And their perception ist JUST beautiful.

What does love mean?

A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds. The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined. See what you think:

When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn’t bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis, too. That’s love.” — Rebecca, 8

When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.”
– Billy, 4

Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.” — Karl, 5

Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your french fries without making them give you any of theirs.”
– Chrissy, 6

Love is what makes you smile when you’re tired.” — Terri, 4

Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.”
– Danny, 7

Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss.” — Emily, 8

Love is what’s in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.” — Bobby, 7

If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate.”
– Nikka, 6

Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.” — Noelle, 7

Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.” — Tommy, 6

During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn’t scared anymore.” — Cindy, 8

My mommy loves me more than anybody. You don’t see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.” — Clare, 6

Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.” — Elaine, 5

Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.” — Chris, 7

Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.” — Mary Ann, 4

I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.” — Lauren, 4

When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.” — Karen, 7

Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn’t think it’s gross.” — Mark, 6

You really shouldn’t say ‘I love you’ unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.” — Jessica, 8

And the final one.

Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child. The winner was a 4-year-old child whose next door neighbour was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman’s yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbour, the little boy said, “Nothing, I just helped him cry.”

Laughing PC – Not so sure about that?

Laughing PC – Not so sure about that?

Not so sure about that myself, but some will love another ‘gadget’.

It won’t be long before your computer avatar will be able to break into laughter or sneeze just like you do after hearing a good joke or under a cold spell, thanks to new software that has the in-built ability to recognise “non-linguistic” sounds, such as laughter, and generate an appropriate facial animation sequence.

Native American Music featuring CONDORI

Native American Music featuring CONDORI

Not really what I was looking for in the early hours this morning. Yes, I should have be in bed at 2AM this morning, but I got carried away and am really quite tired, but the familiar sound of the music woke me up again. How funny, it was CONDORI, my sisters husband, my brother-in-law.

The quality of the video isn’t that great, but who cares? It’s the music, you got to listen to it.

At 2 minutes 38 seconds, that’s Condori.

HOPE, Visions of Whitefeather

HOPE, Visions of Whitefeather

I love this film and have watched it many times. I think you should watch it too.

This animated short visual film you are about to see is a story of prophecy. The story of man going down the wrong path, with one day the possibility of finding the path of peace and love. What we are seeing around the world with wars, genocide, diseases, climate change such as global warming, and potential earth changes that have been foretold by many seers and indigenous peoples. This is that story in animated visuals and soundtrack that will shake you to your roots. We must shift to this path, without hesitation.

“Hope” is a unique and powerful short film with a message of peace for the future. Combining animation, archival footage and live action, in a multi-layered non-linear story, the film brings the viewer on a fascinating journey through human existence. ‘Hope’ is shaped around the knowledge and ideas of Willy Whitefeather, a man in his sixties of Cherokee ancestry, a fascinating storyteller, healer, survivalist and an individual of wisdom and heart.

Homeschooling – Why are YOU not doing it?

Homeschooling – Why are YOU not doing it?

If you are not homeschooling already, have you ever thought about it or even considered it? Maybe you should be seriously thinking about who’s really ‘bringing up’ your kids.

I have raised 5 children myself and NO, unfortunately I did not homeschool. I didn’t even know it was ‘allowed’ or even at all possible. Raising 5 kids, going to work, running a household, cleaning, shopping…and yes, I even used to bake my own bread every day for a family of SEVEN. But I didn’t homeschool and I could have done it myself and to be honest, if I had the choice again, it be homeschooling for my kids, that’s for sure. NO DOUBT!

You tell me, what is the reason having kids if they are brought up by a teacher, a person you don’t even know. You know nothing about. You never heard of. You never even seen before???

Not that I’m religious, FAR FROM IT!!!BUT even the Bible states that parents are to teach their children at all times (Deut. 6:7).

My daughter Ina will homeschool my grandaughter Aiyana. Aiyana is almost 3 years of age and learning is their way of life and not something that occurs at certain times or maybe in a certain place.

Check Ina’s website on homeschooling by clicking on the link below:

Did you know that John Stuart Mill, Patrick Moore, William Blake, Yehudi Menuhin, Bertrand Russell and even Her Majesty the Queen have been homeschooled? Well, what’s good enough for Her Majesty is certainly good enough for our children.

Wish I Just Had Five More Minutes | One More Chance

Wish I Just Had Five More Minutes | One More Chance

I have already posted this on www.Luvy.Org – JUST 5 MORE MINUTES

BUT, it really made me think and here I am…

Isn’t it one of these things, where you wished you had ‘JUST’ those 5 more minutes??

FIVE more minutes to say THANK YOU

FIVE more minutes to LOVE, to say I LOVE YOU

and there are so many more examples we could ALL mention here…

WHAT would you do or say with your ‘five minutes’ if you had a choice?

I dedicate ‘Five More Minutes’ to JOEL, my Grandson and to GUNTER, my Dad… we’ve had those 5 More Minutes … either way… and I am SO SO grateful ;-)

Just Five More Minutes

Author Unknown

While at the park one day, a woman sat down next to a man on a bench near a playground.

“That’s my son over there,” she said, pointing to a little boy in a red sweater who was gliding down the slide.

“He’s a fine looking boy” the man said. “That’s my daughter on the bike in the white dress.”

Then, looking at his watch, he called to his daughter. “What do you say we go, Melissa?”

Melissa pleaded, “Just five more minutes, Dad. Please? Just five more minutes.”

The man nodded and Melissa continued to ride her bike to her heart’s content. Minutes passed and the father stood and called again to his daughter. “Time to go now?”

Again Melissa pleaded, “Five more minutes, Dad. Just five more minutes.”

The man smiled and said, “OK.”

“My, you certainly are a patient father,” the woman responded.

The man smiled and then said, “Her older brother Tommy was killed by a drunk driver last year while he was riding his bike near here. I never spent much time with Tommy and now I’d give anything for just five more minutes with him. I’ve vowed not to make the same mistake with Melissa.

She thinks she has five more minutes to ride her bike. The truth is, I get Five more minutes to watch her play.”

Life is all about making priorities, what are your priorities?
Give someone you love 5 more minutes of your time today!

Love and Time

Love and Time

Submitted by Anonymous

I LOVE this story….very meaningful to me…

LOVE and TIME

Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived:
Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all of the others, including Love.

One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all constructed boats and left. Except for Love.

Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to hold out until the last possible moment.

When the island had almost sunk, Love decided to ask for help.

Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said:
“Richness, can you take me with you?”
Richness answered, “No, I can’t. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you.”

Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel. “Vanity, please help me!”
“I can’t help you, Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat,” Vanity answered.

Sadness was close by so Love asked, “Sadness, let me go with you.”
“Oh . . . Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!”

Happiness passed by Love, too, but she was so happy that she did not even hear when Love called her.

Suddenly, there was a voice:

“Come, Love, I will take you.” It was an elder. So blessed and overjoyed, Love even forgot to ask the elder where they were going. When they arrived at dry land, the elder went her own way. Realizing how much was owed the elder.

Love asked Knowledge, another elder, “Who Helped me?”
“It was Time,” Knowledge answered.
“Time?” asked Love. “But why did Time help me?”
Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered, “Because only Time is capable of understanding how valuable Love is.”

Only Time is capable of understanding how valuable Love is.

Barbeques – How you prepare your meat could affect your health

Barbeques – How you prepare your meat could affect your health

In the UK the weather is just about good enough for people to get their barbeques out. The MEAT SHELVES are empty. But not only here barbeques are popular, they seem to be as American as hot dogs and burgers. When you do so, please be aware that how you prepare the meat could affect your health, say experts for Cancer Research. They are urging people to change their grilling habits.

The health warning is based on a 2007 review of research showed that diets high in red and processed meats increase the risk of colorectal cancer. According to the “Centers for Disease and Prevention” Colorectal cancer for an example is the 3rd most common cause of death in the U.S.

If you like to read the online publication click on the link:
www.dietandcancerreport.org

I am a vegetarian, but each to their own and if you feel you can’t do without eating meat, researchers recommend no more than 16 ounces of red meat in a week, avoiding all processed meats, which INCLUDE hot dogs as well as sausages.

Cooking meats I.e. beef, fish and pork at high temperatures produces carcinogens! Carcinogens are known to cause changes in DNA that may lead to cancer.

(IF you must eat meat), here are some recommend tips:

=>> ONLY choose lean cuts of meat
=>> Keep the portion size limited
=>> Prevent fat from dripping and causing flare-ups by placing aluminium foil (with holes) over the grill> REMEMBER: flare-ups can deposit carcinogens from smoke onto the meat
=>> Before grilling/barbequing, marinate the meat for at least 10 minutes before
=>> Research suggests that soaking meat in any acidic liquid reduces the formation of carcinogens
=>> Flip the meat over as often as possible to reduce the temperature on both sides
=>> Avoid eating burned/charred parts of meat

It is not only easier to be a vegetarian, but also healthier. I dare you, try it!!

Well, don’t ask me, I am not really a ‘fan’ of beards and moustaches – but hey… each to their own. And after all, it is for a good course ;-)
